What is a 'Living Funeral Ceremony'?
A deep exploration into mortality: where you engage in guided meditations and reflective exercises designed to help you connect with your inner self. This introspection will encourage you to contemplate life's journey. This is an opportunity for self-discovery and self-acceptance.
What to expect?
1. VULNERABILITY: This experience will invite you to open up and be vulnerable. It is an opportunity to explore your feelings, thoughts and emotions about your own life and death. You may encounter a wide range of emotions, from sadness and fear to gratitude and acceptance. Know that it is perfectly normal to feel this vulnerability and you are in a supportive space to do so.
2. INTROSPECTION: During the Living Funeral, you will engage in guided meditations and reflective exercises designed to help you connect with your inner self. This introspection will encourage you to contemplate your life's journey, your accomplishments, your regrets, and your dreams. It is time for self-discovery and self-acceptance.
3. COMMUNITY: You are not alone on this journey. You will be sharing this experience with others who are also exploring their relationship with life and death. The sense of community can provide comfort and a shared understanding as you navigate these profound thoughts and feelings.
4. GUIDED MEDITATION: Throughout the event, experienced facilitators will guide you through meditation exercises and discussions. These exercises will help you confront and embrace your mortality, foster a deeper understanding of the impermanence of life and the beauty of the present moment.
5. A CELEBRATION OF LIFE: While we explore the reality of death, this experience is also an opportunity to celebrate your life and the lives of those around you. You will have the chance to express your thoughts, feelings, sharing your wisdom and aspirations with others however, this is NOT required.
6. SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT: This is a judgement-free and compassionate space. Your boundaries will be respected. We encourage you to engage with the experience at your own pace and in a way that feels right for you. There is no "right" or "wrong" way to navigate this journey.
In summary: You will be faced with your own mortality, your own memorial, complete a writing exercise, and are led through a death visualization and meditation. It is a truly transformation and peaceful journey; bringing a new outlook on life as a whole. Allowing you to die before you die....
